CSR & Sustainability

MIE 2024 promotes Social Responsibility taking and supporting actions and initiatives which reflect our identity and sense of responsibility to society and people. Attendees will be active members in activities and will have the satisfaction of the contribution to society and their fellow human beings.

Empowering the Homeless with SHEDIA Magazine

Join us in making a positive impact at MIE 2024 by supporting the homeless community through the sale of SHEDIA magazine. A dedicated booth will be available within the congress venue where delegates can purchase the magazine during breaks and networking sessions. This initiative provides a vital source of income and a platform for homeless individuals to share their stories and perspectives.

What SHEDIA is

Shedia is the only Greek street paper, sold on the streets by approved vendors from vulnerable population groups. It offers a crucial opportunity for individuals experiencing extreme poverty and social exclusion to secure a decent income and rebuild their lives. Shedia serves as a means of activation and social (re)integration and is an independent journalistic source of information. It fights against all forms of social exclusion, giving voice to the marginalized and contributing to the effort to combat poverty.

The International Network of Street Papers | 1 voice united against poverty

The International Network of Street Papers (INSP) unites more than 112 street papers published in 34 countries, from Australia to South Korea and from Sweden to Chile. With a total readership exceeding 6,000,000 per publication worldwide, INSP has supported over 240,000 homeless individuals since its founding in 1994.

Sustainability

MIE 2024 supports and promotes the values of sustainability to society and people. Implements numerous measures designed to reduce the congress’ environmental impact. From the planning of the event to execution and from the moment you start looking into your travel arrangements until you are back from the conference. This congress aspires to bring about sustainable solutions, to act as an inspiration and to raise the level of both learning and awareness, that the positive impacts will outweigh the negative.
