EFMI Bursaries
Introduction
- The bursaries’ aim is to encourage young and/or financially challenged colleagues to participate in EFMI’s conferences.
- Bursaries will cover ONLY the conference fee. The scholars will cover travel costs, out-of-pocket expenses, and other expenses.
- Preferably, individuals belonging to one of the EFMI national associations wishing to take part in an EFMI conference are entitled to apply for a bursary.
- The EFMI Council will appoint a four-member committee (Bursary Committee) to evaluate and judge all applications.
- The application for the candidate should be sent by email to the chairperson of the Bursary Committee.
- The deadline for submitting applications is three months before the conference opens.
Requirements and Criteria
- To accept their application, applicants must declare the following:
- The financial barrier is the only reason holding the applicant back from registering.
- The applicant has sufficient resources to cover travel expenses and lodging.
- It is preferred that the applicant’s employer, institute, or university support their participation in the conference (with or without financial support).
- The Bursary Committee prioritises younger applicants compared to older applicants.
- Prioritise applicants according to whether they have accepted a full paper, a short communication paper, poster, workshop, or no presentation but request a submitted paper or poster.
- Prioritise applicants of EFMI national associations (but request that the applicant live in Europe).
Decision
The applicant will receive a bursary once:
- A positive decision is taken by the Bursary Committee, and
- An applicant’s submission is accepted by the SPC for publication as a full paper
